China's LNG producer price surges.
The producer price for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in China surged to a 10-month high amid rising demand in the winter heating season.
 
The price, which measures costs for LNG at the factory gate, stood at 5,247 yuan ($762) per ton Tuesday, the highest since Feb 14 this year, data from the Shanghai Petroleum and Natural Gas Exchange showed Wednesday.
 
Ecopetrol farms in to Saturno block in Brazil's presalt region. Ecopetrol SA has reached an agreement with Shell and Chevron to farm in to the Saturno block in Brazil's presalt region.
The agreement grants Ecopetrol a 10% stake in the block, which consists of 1,100 sq km off the coast of São Paulo and Río de Janeiro in the central region of the Santos basin.
 
China's northeast bordering province sees surge in oil import from Russia. China imported 23.37 million tonnes of crude oil from Russia through the China-Russia oil pipeline in the first ten months of 2018, up 71.35 percent year on year.
 
Maryland, 8 more AGs join lawsuit against Mid-Atlantic seismic tests. Attorneys general from nine Mid-Atlantic coastal US states are joining environmental and other organizations’ lawsuit against the federal government for issuing incidental harassment authorizations to five geophysical contractors seeking to conduct the first offshore oil and gas seismic tests in the region since the 1980s, Maryland AG Brian E. Frosh (D) announced on Dec. 20.
 

US proved reserves of crude oil, natural gas hit record levels. The proved reserves of crude oil in the United States increased 19.5 percent, or 6.4 billion barrels, to 39.2 billion barrels at year-end 2017, setting a new record high, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).
